ALEXANDRIA, Va. — At least 100 people are expected to spend the night outside a Virginia church — sleeping in boxes — to raise awareness about homelessness.

The “Homeless for a Night” campout will be held Saturday outside Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria. In addition to building awareness, the church will also collect socks and adult male winter boots for the homeless.

Participants in the event will include high school students. No electronics will be allowed.
