RICHMOND, Va. — Police in Virginia say a man who was found dead shortly after a triple homicide in a Richmond apartment had killed the three victims and then became a shooting victim himself.

Richmond police said in a statement Wednesday that 28-year-old Marvin Eley shot the three people who were found dead on Sept. 10. They were identified as 50-year-old Aaron Robinson, 26-year-old Cynthia Williams and 26-year-old Jenelle Smith.

About an hour after the three bodies were found, officers at the scene heard gunshots nearby. Police found Eley dead from gunshot wounds.

Police say motives in the killings are unknown and no arrests have been made in Eley’s slaying.
