PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence police have arrested a suspect in the city’s third homicide in the past week.

Richard Sostre, of Providence, was charged Wednesday with murder in the death of 52-year-old William Rodriguez.

Police say Rodriguez died after being stabbed in the city’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The death was the city’s 10th homicide this year.

A mother of four was found dead inside a home last Friday and a man was stabbed to death later Friday.

Sostre was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Wednesday. A message was left with his attorney.
