PITTSBURGH — A man has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to abuse of a corpse following the discovery of a decomposing body in a Pittsburgh-area apartment.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that 50-year-old Jeffrey Tyniec was ordered to spend 18 months on probation after entering the plea Wednesday.
Allegheny County prosecutors said he helped wrap up the body of 51-year-old Ronald Peless in blankets and comforters after the victim was killed Feb. 1 in the McKees Rocks unit. His body wasn’t found for more than two weeks.
Forty-five-year-old Sheila Wagner pleaded guilty to third-degree murder last month and was ordered to serve 10 to 30 years in prison.
Sixty-year-old Robert Davies pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter and was ordered to serve 11½ to 23 months in jail.
