GREENWOOD
Richard J. DeBaun, 85, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on November 11, 2017. He was born in Shelbyville, Indiana to James and Frances DeBaun.
Richard was in the United States Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. He and his wife Rindy ran his lawn service company together, DeBaun and Son Lawn Service, until his retirement in 2012. He had a passion for music which he shared with his son Richard and although he couldn’t read music he played the piano and keyboard. He also enjoyed making jewelry and being outdoors and enjoying nature.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Rindy DeBaun; his daughter, Sharon Kay Metz; his sons, James Franklin, Michael Richard, and Richard Anthony DeBaun; his sister Betty Byrer; his four-legged best friends; Fritz, Missy, and Sadie; eight grand-children and twelve great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances DeBaun; four brothers, and 5 sisters.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to: Our “Lil” Bit of Heaven Dog Rescue, 4259 Mangus Rd, Poland, IN 47868 with Memo: Angels on Earth Fund. A celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care.
