NEW WHITELAND
Richard Elmer Payne of New Whiteland Indiana passed away Friday, November 10, 2017. Richard was born on October 14, 1949 in Hawthorne, California to Richard and Mary Kay Payne.
Richard proudly served in the United States Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired from Allison Transmissions in 2007 after serving as a machinist for 30 years.
In his free time, Richard enjoyed camping, shooting, watching football, the ocean and especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; sons, Richard and Robert Payne; daughter in law, Angy Payne; brother, Steve Payne and sister in law Joyce Payne.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 17 at Jessen Funeral Home’s Whiteland Chapel at Noon, with funeral services commencing at 1 p.m.
