2 Indy men arrested in traffic stop

Two men were arrested after police found suspected fraudulent documents during a traffic stop on State Road 37.

David B. Gale Jr., 30, Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of driver’s license counterfeiting, and Mickel D. Thacker, 25, Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of giving a false identity.

Just before 3 p.m., a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a vehicle on State Road 37, near State Road 144, that was traveling 97 mph in the 60-mph area, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Thacker gave police a false name and date of birth, which deputies discovered when they searched him and found his identification, the report said. They also found he was wanted on a warrant for parole violation.

Gale had multiple temporary identification cards, what appeared to be fraudulent checks from a Kentucky bank and multiple gift cards, the report said.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for not having a valid driver’s license, the report said.

Gale, 2422 1/2 Adams St., and Thacker, 4228 Stouffer Lane, were both arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. Gale was released on $1,000 bond, and Thacker was held on $2,000 bond.
