FRANKLIN
Virgie (Hendrixson) Morphis, age 83, of Franklin, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life. She was born on May 28, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN as the daughter of Earl and Goldie (Goolsby) Hendrixson. She was married to James Ray Morphis for over 25 years.
She received vocational training and worked for Barth Electric as a secretary for many years before retiring in 1995. She loved her family and liked square-dancing, ceramics, and crochet.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (John) Lang of Greenwood; grandchildren, Chris (Christina) Erazmus, Caitlin Lang, and Cameron Lang, all of Greenwood; and great-grandchildren, Holland and Dawson Erazmus, both of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Goldie Hendrixson; husband, James Morphis, and sisters, Mary Osborn and Lola Sage.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Wright Memorial Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin, IN 46131. A celebration of life service will be held immediately following the gathering. Rev. David Mark Owens will be officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Franklin United Methodist Home Memory Care, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin, IN 46131, or envelopes will be available at the chapel.
