Fundraising efforts to help crash victims

Two special funds have been set up following an automobile accident that killed a Franklin teen and seriously injured another.

A memorial fund has been set up at MainSource Bank for 17-year-old Emma R. Moore, said Darci Wertz, business development manager for the bank. Moore was injured after a semi struck the car she was riding in on Oct. 20. She died from her injuries on Oct. 23 at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

The fund is set up under the name of Moore’s mother, Jennifer “Jo” Moore, so people can come into any MainSource branch and contribute through Jennifer Moore’s name or the Emma Moore Memorial Fund, Wertz said.

Another fund has been created at MainSource for 16-year-old Cynthia Lenkey, who was also a passenger in the car and was injured. Donations will help with medical costs and other expenses related to her recovery.

This account is set up in the name of Lenkey’s mother, Jacqueline Morton, and is called the Cynthia Lenkey Recovery Fund, Wertz said.

Donations can be mailed to MainSource Bank, c/o Darci Wertz, 597 Banta St., Franklin, IN 46131.
