A local food pantry is looking for volunteers to pick-up donated food.
The Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County is in need of volunteer truck drivers.
Drivers are needed Monday through Friday mornings. Drivers take the pantry box truck to local stores and food banks to pick-up food. The time commitment is approximately three hours once a week. People with experience driving large vehicles, such as trucks, farm equipment, RV’s, school buses or willingness to learn how are needed. No CDL is required.
The need for driver has reached a critical level, according to a news release from the pantry.
