Deputies investigate area home burglary

A laptop and jewelry was stolen from a Center Grove area home Tuesday, and police are reviewing surveillance video from a nearby home.

A resident of a home in the 4000 block of Hazy Lane told deputies that he arrived home 4:50 p.m. Tuesday to find a bedroom window broken and numerous items stolen, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

Inside the home, drawers and closets had been ransacked. A laptop, tablet, jewelry, watches and and a video game system were stolen, the report said.

The burglary would have taken place some time between 7:30 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, and investigators are working with nearby homeowners to find and review surveillance video, the report said.
