FARGO, N.D. — Winter wheat planting and soybean harvesting are wrapping up in North Dakota after a week of dry weather.
The federal Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop report that the soybean harvest is 96 percent done. About one-third of the corn crop and half of the sunflowers are in the bin.
The winter wheat crop is 94 percent planted and 87 percent emerged, with two-thirds of the crop rated fair to good.
In the ranching community, pasture and range conditions are rated 58 percent poor or very poor. Stock water supplies are 56 percent short or very short.
