SHREVEPORT, La. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that killed a man and seriously injured another man in Louisiana.

The Shreveport Times reports patrol officers were called to a home after receiving several reports of gunshots being fired. Two adult males were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

A Shreveport police news release says a man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released, pending notification of family.

Authorities say 26-year-old Jaeric Carey was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but he’s expected to survive.

Based on preliminary information, authorities say it appears that the victims were sitting inside a parked car in the driveway of the residence when the vehicle was riddled with bullets.
