DES MOINES, Iowa — Authorities say one person has died after a fire at a Des Moines apartment building.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports that fire crews were sent to the blaze a little before 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. Officials say one of the apartment occupants died after being taken to a hospital. Another occupant was injured. Their names haven’t been released.

Firefighters keep the fire from spreading elsewhere in the building.

The fire cause is being investigated.
