Deer hunters can learn how to process their own meat at an upcoming program.
Purdue Extension, the Department of Natural Resources and Johnson County Park are offering a free venison workshop at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Maples building at Johnson County Park, 3133 E. 32nd St., Nineveh.
Topics will include skinning, butchering and packaging venison. Food safety and preparing and preserving venison also will be covered.
