Nonprofits receive grants

Two local nonprofit agencies have received grants that will help them feed the community.

Johnson County Senior Services received $7,500 and the Interchurch Food Pantry received $5,000 from Glick Philanthropies.

The Gene B. Glick company awarded 50 organizations across eight states with $300,000 to help combat food insecurity.

Organizations that received the grants were nominated through Gene B. Glick employees as organizations that address hunger in the community.

The Interchurch Food Pantry serves between 80 to 100 households daily. Johnson County Senior Services operates a food pantry meant to help needy seniors.
