Walter Wesley and Dorothy J. Bishop

GREENWOOD

Walter Wesley Bishop Sr., 93, and Dorothy J. Bishop, 92, of Greenwood, passed away on October 23, 2017.

During their 74 years of marriage they were active members of Greenwood Christian Church, Oasis and VFW.

Walter was a retired school teacher, spent 25 years part time with the Kroger Bakery and was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. Dorthy was a homemaker and retired after 20 years with Sears Auditing Department.

After retirement they traveled the world, where avid readers, loved playing cards, hosting family events, #1 fans of their grandchildren sporting events, and mostly enjoyed time with family and friends.

Survivors include children, Walter Wesley Bishop Jr (Abigail) of Indianapolis, Gary Bishop of Indianapolis, Deborah Cottingham (Terry) ofGreenwood, and Valeria Murray (Phil) of West Virginia; grandchildren, Brandi Cottingham of Fort Worth, TX, Christopher Cottingham (Beth) of Indianapolis, Amanda Cottingham of Greenwood, Dr. Sarah Bishop-Tookman (Daniel) of Rochester MN, Michael Baldwin of Vero Beach, FL and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pastor Perry Anderson will lead The Celebration of Life on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 4:00 pm at the Bay Horse Inn Event Barn, 1468 West Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood, IN with visitation following. They will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
