BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A teenager who is accused of fatally shooting a store clerk in Alabama has been indicted.

Al.com reports that a Jefferson County grand jury indicted 18-year-old Chandler Jacoby Bryant on charges of first-degree robbery and capital murder in the June 3 death of 29-year-old Mike Ngangi.

Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton says officers were dispatched to the store on a robbery alarm. When they arrived, they found two people consoling Ngangi, who had been shot one time. He was taken to a hospital and later died.

Bryant was arrested on June 13. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
