A woman reported someone stole her purse in a Center Grove area park this week
After 8 p.m. Monday, the woman called to report that a man with a knife kicked and hit her and stole her purse in Independence Park, located off Morgantown Road. The woman told police the theft had happened more than two hours before she called, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
She told police a recently refilled bottle of Xanax, a prescription anxiety medication, and her identification cards were inside her purse. Her credit card was in her vehicle, and her keys were in her coat, and those items were not stolen, the report said.
The woman was checked by emergency workers and was not injured, the report said.
The sheriff’s office is investigating.
