A local group is raising money to help officers and their families.
The Johnson County FOP Auxiliary 154 supports officers and their families in times of need, such as when an officer is wounded or killed in the line of duty.
The group is hosting a fundraising event Oct. 27.
Comedian Mike Armstrong, a former police officer, will do a comedy show at 7 p.m. at the Greenwood Moose Lodge 2079, 813 W. Smith Valley Road.
Tickets are $20 and will be available until Oct. 25. Space is limited, but any available tickets will be sold at the door on the night of the event. All money raised will benefit officers and their families in need.
