MARRERO, La. — Authorities say a shooting in Louisiana has killed a man and critically wounded a woman. Times-Picayune reports responding officers found the man’s body in a grassy area of a Marrero avenue around 7:20 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says the woman was found next to a vehicle and a boy was found in the back of the car.

Authorities say the woman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The boy, who was not injured, was taken to the JPSO’s Detectives Bureau so that investigators could ask him about the shooting.

Authorities say it’s unclear whether the victims and the child were in the car when the shooting occurred. Further details have not been released.
