Sharon Kay (Jones) DeWitt, 70, passed away October 16, 2017 at Mid-Pinellas Hospice Center in Pinellas Park, FL. She was born March 24, 1947 to Walter D. and Katherinee Mull Jones. Sharon married Donn DeWitt in St. Petersburg, FL, he survives.
Sharon was a graduate of Franklin Community High School and attended Indiana State University. Sharon was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church in Franklin, IN, a 50 year member of Order of The Eastern Star Chapter #439 in Franklin, IN, past honored Queen of Job’s Daughters, Franklin, IN, and past Johnson County Fair Queen.
She is survived by her sons Chad VanEtten (Laura) of Winterville, NC and Casey VanEtten of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren Skyler DaSilva of FL, Bridgette VanEtten of Jacksonville, FL, and Katie VanEtten of Winterville, NC; sisters Karen Gimian (Allan) of Dumfries, VA and Jan Reichel (Bruce) of Franklin, IN; nephews Walter Jones, Homer Jones of KS, and Todd Gimian (Lynn) of NV; nieces Jennie Jones of KS, Jennifer Morey (Nick) of Franklin, IN, and Tara DiDonato (Nick) of NC; an uncle Don Mull (Gwen) of Greenwood, IN; and several cousins.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Walter D. and Katherinee Mull Jones, and her brother Thomas Douglas Jones.
The Reverend William Horner will conduct a memorial service on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, 46131, where the family will receive friends from 10AM until service time.
