GREENVILLE, S.C. — Two men have been arrested in a burglary that led to a shooting death in a South Carolina neighborhood.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Friday that 25-year-old Shane William Standard and 32-year-old Tracie Lewis Mayfield have been charged with kidnapping, first-degree burglary, attempted armed robbery, conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Deputies said 31-year-old Jeffrey Eugene Bradley was shot and killed Oct. 12.

Sgt. Ryan Flood said Bradley was with Standard and Mayfield when they went to a home and held a person inside at gunpoint while demanding money. Deputies said a neighbor saw the struggle and fired, killing Bradley.

Standard and Mayfield are being held in the Greenville County jail. It was not known if they have an attorney.
