Marilyn R. Simpson, 85, passed peacefully into her eternal future to join her father and mother, Paul and Helena Ginder and her sister, Sr. Marilyn Rose Ginder.
Marilyn was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Indianapolis. She attended St. Mary of the Wood’s College and received her art degree from John Herron School of Art and her teaching degree from Butler University.
Her achievements in life include a 59 year marriage to Terrence E. Simpson sharing the joys of seven children, Timothy, Thomas, Thad, Theresa, Tracy, Thecla Patterson and Tonya.
Her artwork won various awards and she was devoted to programs of the mentally disabled, including the Special Olympics.
She is a past president of Johnson County Gateway Services and was secretary and treasurer of American Tent and Awning Co., for more than 25 years.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice.
