GREENWOOD
Kurtis Ryan Hemmer, 27, of Greenwood, passed away, to be with his Lord and Savior, on October 14, 2017.
He was born December 29, 1989, to Jeff and Rachelle (Frias) Hemmer, in Orange County CA. He was a 2008 graduate, of Center Grove High School, and a 2013 graduate, of IUPUI, with a B.S. degree, in criminal justice. He was a member of the TKE fraternity.
Since moving to Greenwood, Kurtis grew up attending Southwood Assembly of God. The church was an integral part of his formative years, where he gave his heart to the Lord, at a very tender age. Kurtis was passionate about Nascar, golf, and his favorite team, the Colts. Kurtis was especially close to his younger brother Colin. They were fiercely loyal to one another and always could count on each other, under any circumstance.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff & Rachelle (Frias) Hemmer of Greenwood; brother, Colin Hemmer of Greenwood; Grandparents, Richard Frias of Greenwood, Harry and Dorothy Hemmer of Arizona, James and Marilyn Delp of Indianapolis; nephew, Liam Hemmer; aunt and uncles, Colette Frias of Laguna Niguel, CA, Brett and Wilma Frias of Greenwood, Greg and Darci Hemmer of Greenwood, Milan and Nancy Hall of Texas, and David and Kathy Anderson of Washington; and numerous cousins. He especially loved his “kids”, Brittney, Javier, Andrew, and Helen.
He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bonnie S. Frias.
Kurtis was, and will forever be, our First born baby son, who was greatly loved and cherished and we take comfort knowing the Lord now holds him close for us.
