Woman arrested on battery, drug charges

A woman was arrested after police say she ran over a man’s foot with a car in Greenwood.

Lindsey R. Smith, 35, of Franklin was arrested on two charges of battery, domestic battery, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, intimidation, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and theft.

Police were called to a business in the 400 block of Park 800 Drive at 11:35 p.m. Monday. A man said Smith, his ex-girlfriend, had met him there and asked for $20 to buy gas and cigarettes, which he gave her. He told police Smith swerved toward him and drove over his foot when she was leaving, the report said. The man was taken to Franciscan Health Indianapolis for treatment, the report said.

Officers went to the victim’s home and found Smith there, fighting with two other people, who said that Smith tried to steal items from the home and had bitten one of them, the report said.

Smith threatened the officer and other people, and fought with officers while being arrested, the report said. Smith, 697 S. County Road 100W, was taken to the Johnson County jail, where officers found she was hiding a small bag of marijuana and prescription medication. She was held on $10,400 bond.
