Pizza delivery driver robbed

A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening in Greenwood.

The delivery driver had dropped off an order at a home in the 600 block of Metairie Drive in Valle Vista Apartments at about 11:50 p.m. and was returning to his car when a man approached him, pointed a gun and demanded his money, a Greenwood Police Department report said.

After the man fired the handgun in the air, the delivery driver threw $26 on the ground, which the man then took and ran off, the report said.

Residents in the area told police they had heard the gunshot and then saw a man running, the report said.

Officers found a shell casing on the ground and searched the area but were unable to locate the man, the report said.
