A woman reported being punched and fondled at a Franklin park by a man who also tried to steal her purse.
Police were called to Johnson Memorial Health just before 4 p.m. Friday, where a woman reported a man had attacked her in Scott Park.
The woman told police she had gone for a walk and sat down on a bench in the park when a man she did not know tried to grab her purse. She and the man struggled over the purse, falling to the ground, and the man hit her, according to the Franklin Police Department report.
She told police the man fondled her and tried to kiss her, and she managed to get away and lock herself in a nearby bathroom, the report said.
A friend took the woman to the hospital to be checked out, and the hospital workers called police, the report said.
The incident is being investigated.
