Free classes target cardiovascular health

Franciscan Health Heart Center is offering free classes for cardiovascular health and wellness in October.

Cooks who want to lighten their meat intake can learn recipes at a meatless meals course 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Franciscan Health Heart Center, 8111 S. Emerson Ave. The class will help teach meal planning and recipes so cooks can incorporate more meatless recipes into their diets.

Weight loss class slated at heart center

People wanting to lose weight can enroll in the Weight Loss 101 course 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the heart center. Those wanting to reduce stress can learn how from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the heart center.

Joint replacement, arthritis seminar set

Franciscan Health is offering a seminar focused on arthritis and hip and knee replacements at 6 p.m. today at Franciscan Health Senior Promise, 8778 S. Madison Ave., Indianapolis.

Robert A. Malinzak will explain the latest procedures in joint replacement and arthritis treatments. He is a surgeon with Franciscan Physician Network Joint Replacement Surgeons.
