ANCHORAGE, Alaska — In a story Oct. 11 about a fatal shooting, The Associated Press, relying on information from the Anchorage Police Department, reported erroneously the address where the shooting took place. The shooting was in the 800 block of West 29th Place, not West 29th Avenue.

A corrected version of the story is below:

Man dies in shooting at west Anchorage apartment

Anchorage police say a man was shot and killed at a west-side apartment

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage police say a man was shot and killed at a west-side apartment.

Police at 4:16 a.m. Wednesday took a call of the shooting in the 800 block of West 29th Place.

The man was found dead in the living room of an apartment on the second floor of the building and witnesses were in the apartment.

Police closed west 29th Place for several hours as they investigated.
