A head-on crash on State Road 44 injured four adults and five children on Sunday afternoon.
A witness told deputies that Alicia West, 25, of Whiteland, was driving a car east on State Road 44 near County Road 100S at about 3 p.m. when she crossed over the center line, striking a sport utility vehicle going west driven by Anthony Agresta, 55, of Indianapolis, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.
West told deputies that she had been going through a 90-degree turn on State Road 44 and the last thing she remembered was a loud boom and waking up to people helping her, the report said.
Both drivers, as well as two adult passengers and five children between the ages of 2 and 7, were injured in the crash, the report said.
All of the drivers and passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment, the report said. Their conditions weren’t available on Monday.
