RUTLAND, Vt. — Vermont police are investigating a fire at a vacant building as arson.

Rutland fire officials say they responded to a fire late Saturday and were able to stop the fire before it spread further into the building. WCAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2fUVS2A ) the city had recently taken ownership of the building, and damage was estimated at approximately $25,000.

Investigators say the fire was intentionally set. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them.
