Lancers fourth at own tourney
Facing a field full of Class A sectional and regional contenders, Edinburgh finished fourth at the Lancer Volleyball Invite on Saturday.
The Lancers (9-22) defeated Monrovia and lost to eventual runner-up Liberty Christian in pool play, then fell to Trinity Lutheran in the third-place match. Edinburgh and Trinity will meet again in a sectional semifinal this Saturday.
Greenwood Christian placed fifth in the tourney. The Cougars (24-8) lost pool-play matches to Trinity Lutheran and tourney champion Hauser before defeating Monrovia in the fifth-place match.
Franklin College
Women’s soccer thumps Bluffton
Maddie Fleet scored four goals and assisted on two others as Franklin College cruised to a 7-0 win over Bluffton on Saturday evening.
Hannah McIntosh, Clare Lenart and Jalynn Gorman also scored goals for the Grizzlies (8-3, 4-0 HCAC).
