HOLBROOK, Mass. — Police say a utility truck in Massachusetts has struck and killed a 4-year-old girl who had run into the street outside her home.

Authorities tell NECN (http://bit.ly/2hVPEUx ) the girl was hit around 1 p.m. Saturday in Holbrook, about 20 miles south of Boston. She was taken to South Shore Hospital, where she died. Police had not identified her Saturday night.

Investigators took photos of the Comcast truck and tested its brakes.

NECN reports the neighborhood is quiet and heavily wooded. Residents say children are known to run around outside and ride their bikes in the area.
