Juvenile justice system panel set for Franklin

A panel to teach community residents more about the juvenile justice system will be in Franklin on Wednesday.

The Indiana Youth Institute, Youth Connections, Children’s Bureau, Inc., Girls, Inc. of Johnson County and Johnson County System of Care are hosting the free panel. The Youth Worker Café will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Adult and Child Mental Health Services, 1860 Northwood Plaza.

Heather Titara with Dickinson Juvenile Justice Center, Chris Ponti, the Teen Court manager with Reach for Youth, and Angela Morris, a juvenile probation officer with Johnson County probation, will answer questions about the system. Attendees also will learn about general justice and probation information, Reach for Youth’s Teen Court program and the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative.

The forum and lunch are free, but reservations are required and can be made at iyi.org/calendar.
