GREELEYVILLE, S.C. — Federal investigators are trying to determine why a small plane crashed in South Carolina, killing the two people on board the aircraft.
The plane came down in some woods in Williamsburg County around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near Greeleyville.
Williamsburg County Deputy coroner said the victims were 66-year-old Henry Haddock of Salters and 47-year-old Kenneth Britton of Summerton. Haddock owned the plane.
Horton said autopsies at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston determined both men died from trauma from the crash.
Horton said the twin-engine Cessna was on fire when first responders arrived.
The National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the crash.
Greeleyville is about 55 miles (88 kilometers) north of Charleston.
