Braves fall in conference final

Indian Creek was handed a 25-11, 25-22, 25-19 defeat by Class 3A No. 9 Northview in the Western Indiana Conference championship match Thursday.

Taylor Burkett had six kills for the Braves (24-8), who won the WIC East title and already have doubled last season’s win total. Tori Travers added nine digs and Emma Dennis served up four aces.

Grizzly Cubs top Bull Dogs

Alyvia Sundheimer hammered home 14 kills and Alivia Brown added 11 as Franklin defeated Columbus North, 19-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Brooke Phillips had 39 assists and 14 digs for the Grizzly Cubs (24-4), while Brooklyn Peddycord pulled up 17 digs.

Warriors dropped in five sets

After rallying from two sets down, Whiteland dropped a marathon home finale against Perry Meridian 25-13, 25-16, 29-31, 23-25, 15-9.

Toni Joyner had 10 kills for the Warriors, while Hannah Williams and Jordan Wise added seven and five, respectively. Rhyan Walden finished with nine digs.

Rebels take down Olympians

Roncalli swept its way to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-23 win at Columbus East behind 12 digs and five aces from Taylor Kehoe.

Rebels blanked by rival Chatard

Roncalli saw its season come to an end with a 1-0 loss to Bishop Chatard in sectional semifinal play Thursday.
