KILLINGTON, Vt. — Police in Vermont say a passenger has died in a crash after the vehicle left a road and struck several trees.

Police said 63-year-old Detra Coltey Mailhiot, of Rochester, Vermont, was taken to a hospital from the crash in Killington on Wednesday afternoon. She succumbed to life-threatening injuries.

Police said the crash happened on Route 100. They said speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors; they are still investigating.
