NEW YORK — Relatives say a New York City man who’d been caring for his blind wife for 15 years is on life support after he was brutalized during a cellphone robbery.
A cousin, Faisel Hassan, tells the Daily News (http://nydn.us/2z0XGja ) that doctors may know more within a week about the condition of 72-year-old Mohammad Alam.
Alam was talking on his phone on a Queens street on Sept. 28 when a teen snatched it.
As he tried to chase the thief a second teen punched him in the face, causing him to fall head-first onto the sidewalk.
Police made two arrests on Monday.
