TRENTON, N.J. — Top Democrats plan to campaign for New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Muprhy in the final weeks before the election.

Murphy’s campaign announced on Thursday that former vice presidents Joe Biden and Al Gore, Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder and Gold Star father Khizr Khan, who clashed with Donald Trump, will be in the state.

Khan, whose son was killed in Iraq in 2004, taunted Trump at the Democratic convention.

The list also includes New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker, former Secretary of State John Kerry and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez.

Gabby Giffords, the former Democratic congresswoman from Arizona and gun control advocate, and her husband Mark Kelly will also be pulling for Murphy.

Murphy faces Republican Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno in the Nov. 7 election.
