LEXINGTON, S.C. — A woman has died in a fire in central South Carolina.

Firefighters were called to a home in Lexington around 3 a.m. Monday.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said in a news release the victim was 48-year-old Diana M. Jimenez. Fisher said Jimenez died from asphyxiation.

The State law Enforcement Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
