IRMO, S.C. — A police chief in South Carolina says a woman has tried to lure preteen boys into her car by offering to give them a ride.

Irmo Police Chief Don Perry said none of the boys got into the woman’s red car and reported what happened to their parents.

Perry says the woman was wearing scrubs with a teddy bear design when she tried to get a boy into her car outside an apartment in the Columbia suburb last Thursday.

Perry said at a news conference it appears the same woman was wearing scrubs with flowers when she tried to get two boys into her car Tuesday afternoon at Crossroads Middle School.

Perry says the boys were between 10 and 12 years old.

Police have increased patrols all around Columbia schools.
