NEW YORK — A New York City school bus driver was surprised to find a pair of sleeping raccoons while he was doing a vehicle check in Brooklyn.

The driver called police to flush out the pair of raccoons. The Daily News reports ( ) the raccoons woke up by the time police arrived, and were able to evade the police who boarded the bus.

The raccoons, racing between responding officers legs, made their way off the bus toward a nearby bagel store.

Ultimately, the animals were both caught and released back into the wild by responding officers.
