BATON ROUGE, La. — Authorities say a Louisiana man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a woman.

News outlets report 23-year-old Hendrick Tate was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder in the July 25 death of 38-year-old Andretta Selders-Field. Authorities say the shooting occurred while Selders-Field sat in the passenger seat of her vehicle around 5 a.m. in Baton Rouge. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. says Tate is also accused of shooting and wounding a person on Aug. 4 and was arrested on Sept. 11 for that incident. DNA taken from the August shooting matched with a sample taken from the scene where Selders-Field was killed.

Further details have not been released. It’s unclear if Tate has a lawyer.
