Grizzly Cubs clinch league title

Franklin completed another perfect run through the Mid-State Conference with a 25-14, 25-4, 25-17 sweep of Martinsville on Tuesday.

Alyvia Sundheimer had eight kills and three blocks to lead the Grizzly Cubs (23-4, 6-0), while Brooke Phillips added 20 assists and eight digs. Franklin will play the Artesians again in its sectional-opener next Thursday.

Trojans claim MIC crown

Center Grove swept three sets against Lawrence Central on Tuesday, wrapping up a repeat Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference championship.

The Class 4A No. 10 Trojans are 27-4 overall and finish league play at 7-0.

Cougars sweep home finale

Greenwood Christian rolled past Southwestern (Shelby) on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-15, 25-12. Sierra Gilson had eight aces and seven kills for the Cougars.

Grace Peters added 10 kills for Greenwood Christian, while Aubrey Odgers totaled 11 digs and Lexi Odgers had 27 assists.

Lancers fall to Jets

Edinburgh was defeated by Class A No. 5 Hauser Tuesday, 25-13, 25-15, 25-27, 25-17, in a match to determine the Mid-Hoosier Conference title. The Lancers fall to 8-20 overall, 4-2 in the league.

Rebels top Brownsburg

Paced by 17 kills and 22 digs from Grace Hegwood, Roncalli defeated Brownsburg 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20 on Tuesday.

Rebels roll in tourney opener

Roncalli coasted past Broad Ripple 9-0 in its first-round sectional game at Bishop Chatard.

Jamie Mahin and Sophia Dietz each scored two goals for the Rebels, while Kelly Grube, Morgan Kincaid, Grace Elo, Marina Babcock and Stephanie Hasselkus added single tallies.
