ST. ALBANS, Vt. — Police in St. Albans, Vermont, have identified a man and a woman found dead in an apartment over the weekend.

They say 51-year-old Leaf Blouin and 37-year-old Stephen Puro, both of St. Albans, were found dead Sunday night. Authorities believe they were dead for several days. Concerned relatives asked police to check the apartment.

Police say Blouin died from multiple stab wounds to the neck and upper torso and that her death was a homicide. It appears she died before Puro.

The cause of Puro’s death is not clear. Authorities are awaiting a toxicology report.

Police say the apartment was locked from the inside and there was no evidence of a forced entry.
