Thefts from vehicles reported near Franklin College

At least three vehicles were rummaged through and another was stolen during the weekend near the Franklin College campus.

From 8 a.m. to noon, Franklin police took five reports in and around the campus.

Three people reported that someone got into their vehicles and went through them, stealing sunglasses, change and cash, according to police reports. One of the residents reported her ignition was damaged and she was unable to get her key in, the report said.

Another resident reported leaving his vehicle parked near the campus when he went to a restaurant Friday night. He left with friends and came back the next morning to find his truck was gone, the report said.

Just before noon, another resident called police after finding blood in and around his vehicle parked near the Franklin College library, the report said. One of the residents whose vehicle was rummaged through also found blood inside, the report said.

Police are investigating.
