Beer, shoes taken from golf course; man arrested

A teen was arrested after multiple thefts were reported at a Center Grove area golf club.

Nolan Miller, 18, Greenwood, was arrested on a charge of burglary.

Surveillance video showed a man entering Dye’s Walk Country Club, located off State Road 135, the evenings of Sept. 22 and 26 taking clothing from the golf shop and carrying cases of beer out of the building, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said. A hole had also been drilled in the country club’s safe in an unsuccessful attempt to open it, the report said.

Early Friday morning, a deputy in a parking lot north of the country club observed a car with a missing hubcap driving north on Golfview Drive that matched the car seen in the surveillance video, the report said.

When deputies searched the vehicle, they found five cases of beer, a box with bottles of wine, four golf trophies and a pair of golf shoes. A golf club employee identified the items as having been stolen, the report said.

Miller, 503 Cielo Vista Court, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail where he was held on $2,400 bond.
