RIVERTON, Wyo. — A search is underway for a missing hunter in northwest Wyoming.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office was notified about 7:20 a.m. Monday of an overdue hunter in the Dubois area.

The person reporting the missing hunter told the Sheriff’s Office that he and the missing person were supposed to meet Sunday at a trail head and establish camp ahead of elk hunt. The lost hunter’s vehicle was in the parking lot but there was no sign of the hunting partner.

The lost Hunter is described as a 63-year-old white male who is about 6-foot-4, 260 pounds (118 kilograms).

Searchers were dispatched on horseback and on ATVs to look for the man.
