NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — New Jersey police say two people were shot to death in broad daylight over the weekend.

Neptune Township Police say they received reports of two shooting victims around 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Asbury Park Press reports (http://on.app.com/2x97Osw ) victims have been identified as 37-year-old Sheazel Collins and 37-year-old Frantz Paraison.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says Collins was declared dead at the scene, while Paraison died at an area hospital.

Tiffany Hylton, Collins’ sister-in-law, tells the Asbury Park Press he was a devoted father and wasn’t a criminal. Marvin Brown, who lives around the area where the shooting happened, says it has always been a quiet neighborhood.

Officials declined to release further information because they say the investigation is ongoing.
